St. Louis in July
You can probably tell that our July trip was our big trip of 2007. We visited the "Gateway to the West", the St. Louis arch. We toured the arch, the Lewis & Clark museum, and the surrounding sites. We had our first trip on a paddle-wheel steamer. Then we left Missouri on our way to Kentucky.

Vicksburg - still in July
We visited Vicksburg, the site of one of the great Civil War battles. We viewed the battlefield and monuments while reading about the historical battles. We saw a partially restored Civil War battleship. We also visited their museum of Civil War artifacts.
We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast that was built in 1849, and we saw several plantation homes as well as many other historical buildings that date back to Civil War times.

Berries, daisies, tomatos, lilies, bluebells, and many other flowers are blooming in out back garden. Compare these to pictures from several posts ago to see the difference. We also have peppers and lettuce growing.

Back Garden and Egg Hunting
Our Garden is very pretty this year. Almost everything is blooming. Enjoy the pictures. Everything would be great if we just had fewer gophers. Our back yard was a fun place to hunt eggs with Ethan and family.
